Yala crazy

Couldn’t sleep last night, a big beetle landed on me and frightened the life out of me. I chased him down and assaulted him several times to no avail. It seems this beetle is immortal. Anyway he’s under a glass now. While this was going on a noticed a little lizard on the curtains. Quite like lizards so I didn’t mind this. But after the slug on the toilet and the battered moth from earlier I kept dreaming of creepy crawlies and it disturbed me.

Was feeling a bit silly this morning so I stuck some music on and had a bit of a sing song.

Off to Yala later which is where the leopards are supposed to be. Thought if I dressed like one they might be more inclined to come over.

Saw a mongoose at breakfast but the little sod was too fast so I didn’t get a pic. I sneaked towards him but he spotted me and scarpered. Also saw a Kite bird. By the time I got my camera he was a bit far away but I got him.

On the way saw another couple of cool things.

Got to the hotel. Haven’t seen another guest again. Room is a bit weird as the bed is in the middle of the room. As in you can walk round all four sides. View is ok though and it’s quite comfy.

Music selection is on point too.

We got to Yala and it was quite cool park. There were things to be seen before we had even reached the entrance!

But after an hour or so and no leopards I was beginning to feel defeated. Another car stopped and told us we had just missed two crossing the road. Argh!

We persevered though it was getting a bit late in the day as the park shut at 6pm. Then, as if by magic, what you and I had been waiting for all day…..

Unfortunately not the best picture as he mushed his (or her/their) little face up! However the picture with the close up of the markings is my favourite! If you look closely towards the bum you can see a little battle scar!

Home time! Back to a bloody set menu and guess what? I don’t like it.

Decided to give the morning safari a go too. Maybe the sloth bear will make an appearance?
