I African do it
Woke up at 7 and put some music on whilst I repacked. I’m a bit less nervous today but still panicking that I’m going to hold everyone up because I walk really slowly. Luckily there are a few guides and so someone will stay at the back with me if necessary. Whilst waiting for the truck I did some warm up exercises and stretches.
We got to the gate. Nerves are high.

We walked for 3 and a half hours. It wasn’t as bad as I had expected. I was a bit out of breath and breathing deeply but I felt ok with the pace and the elevation.
We got to the Mandara Hut, put our stuff in the huts and then went on an acclimatisation walk to a nearby crater. Then we had hot drinks and popcorn. I say we, I didn’t have hot drinks because I’m a fussy bugger.
We had dinner and then went to bed. I shared a hut with Maddy, Lucas and Kaileigh
