Just a quick note to say where I am up to in life.
So I currently weigh about 98KG. I know, it sounds a lot. I’m a UK size 14 and my BMI is off the scale. That’s a joke. I am however, morbidly obese blah blah.
I can run about 5k quite comfortably, squat 70kg, deadlift 50kg and chest press 30kg.
I’ve lost a lot of weight but none in the last few months for whatever reason. However my face has got slimmer and my clothes looser. The collage pic below is New Year 2014 to summer 2015 and the other is today.
🧳 UNPACKED
Where I Was (April 2016): This was early in The Gym Era – I could run 5k, squat 70kg, deadlift 50kg. The weight wasn’t shifting but my body was changing. Classic reminder that scales don’t tell the whole story.
What I Learned: The scale can stay the same while your body completely transforms. Face slimmer, clothes looser, getting stronger – all while the number barely budged. This messed with my head at the time, but it taught me that progress isn’t linear and muscle weighs more than fat isn’t just a cliché.
If You’re on Your Own Journey:
- Take progress photos regularly – they don’t lie when scales do
- Measurements matter more than weight
- Getting stronger IS progress, even if the scale’s being stubborn
- Don’t let BMI charts ruin your day – they’re not the full picture
